Marketized Mentality

Short Description: Marketized mentality refers to neoliberal attitudinal patterns that are accompanied by a strong orientation toward competitive ideologies, entrepreneurial self-optimization and economistic value orientations. Marketized mentality is suspected of reinforcing economically legitimized ideas of inequality and inequity and thus of contributing to the discrimination of certain groups stigmatized as economically unprofitable and, moreover, to the election success of parties that serve this narrative.

Methodological Details: Respondents should assess a set of items such as “The key to success is to be better than the others.”
