Evaluating the comparability of life satisfaction responses

Short Description: The study investigates how people respond to the SOEP question on life satisfaction. In particular, we investigate (1) whether scale use is common across respondents, (2) whether scale use is constant over time within respondents, and (3) whether respondents use the response scale in a linear fashion.

Methodological Details: Respondents were asked questions that focused on life satisfaction and how their own life satisfaction had developed in recent years.
