Fine Phonetic Detail and Social Meaning in Sociodemographically Diverse Populations¶
Short Description: The main goal of this module to describe the role of fine phonetic detail in social meaning by looking at sociodemographically diverse populations. The module results from a cooperation between sociophoneticans from the ZAS and the FSU Jena and builds on a developed smartphone app (Plapper) which collects spoken language and sociodemographic data across diverse social groups.
Methodological Details: The respondents were asked to participate in the “Plapper” app. Additionally, the respondents have the possibility to link their app-data with their survey data from SOEP.
