Loss Aversion Using A Symmetric Scale

Short Description: The debate about the prevalence and degree of loss aversion has overlooked an important methodological problem: The standard scale to measure loss aversion is biased: It is more likely to exaggerate than to underscore the true level of loss aversion. Using an unbiased scale, we attempt to conduct one of the largest examinations of loss aversion to date, and to compare results with previous biased scales.

Methodological Details: Respondents were asked a set of question with different coin-flip scenarios.
