Inflation Expectations, Perceived Inflation and Populism
Short Description: Several studies suggest that inflation plays a crucial role in the rise of populist movements. While existing work mainly considers the effect of realized inflation shocks, this module extends the analysis by evaluating the roles of inflation expectations, perceived inflation, as well as proxies for personal inflation for populist political views.
Methodological Details: Respondents were asked questions about the inflation in Germany.
